Rail Gate Restrictions Disrupt Intermodal Service
The rail network continues to work through ongoing ramp congestion, labor challenges and equipment imbalances. With progress in the Pacific Northwest, BNSF has lifted all gate restrictions to Portland, OR, as well as all gate restrictions from Seattle, WA. To restore equipment balance, CSX has lifted gate restrictions from Chicago/Bedford Park, IL, to all destinations and closed the gates at all origin points to Chicago/Bedford Park, IL. With continued ramp congestion in Florida, NS has closed the gates at all origin points to Jacksonville, FL. Finally, due to ramp congestion in Chicago, NS has implemented new gate restrictions from Chicago/Calumet, IL, to Austell, GA, and Charlotte, NC. Below is a summary of current rail gate closures and restrictions impacting J.B. Hunt and its customers.
