The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) created the SmartWay

Transport Partnership program
as a voluntary effort between the government and the transportation industry to develop and implement methods
to improve air quality and reduce greenhouse gas emissions in transportation.
J.B. Hunt is an active participant in the EPA's SmartWaySM program and boasts one of the highest fuel
efficiency/environmental performance score of all the member partners. Through the program, we have
identified opportunities to improve energy efficiency through processes and technologies. Our action
plan is working. In 2008 and 2009, J.B. Hunt was awarded the SmartWay
sm
Excellence award for our
outstanding performance in improving transportation energy efficiency and reducing greenhouse gas
emissions.
