Operations - Management Trainee Program

Demonstrated drive, initiative and the desire to excel can help you progress into leadership roles as opportunities arise. To join the Operations Program, you should possess at least one of the following qualifications:

    A four-year degree from an accredited university, with a minimum GPA of 2.7.
  •  
    Three years of experience with J.B. Hunt.
  •  
    Three years of demonstrated supervisory and decision-making experience.
  •  
    Transportation industry experience or military service is a significant advantage.
As a Dedicated Manager in Training (DMIT) you'll be assigned to the Dedicated Contract Services (DCS) business unit. During this three-to-six month program, you'll rotate between various customer accounts while learning how to lead and manage a dedicated logistics operation. At the conclusion of your training, we'll promote you to Operations Supervisor and place you at one of our accounts within your home region. We will make every effort to place you in or near your area of preference; however, we'll ask you to be flexible regarding placement and relocation.

As a Fleet Manager in Training (FMIT), you'll be assigned to our truckload business unit at our headquarters in Lowell, Ark. You'll learn how to lead drivers and work with our logistics systems. When you complete training, we will promote you to Fleet Manager, and you will be responsible for up to 35 professional drivers.
