J.B. Hunt's Independent Contractor Group offers truck owners a traditional Rate per Mile plan. Mileage-based option start with base rate of .90 cpm, plus fuel surcharge, for all loaded miles and 60 cpm, plus fuel surcharge, for empty miles. The fuel surcharge is adjusted weekly in keeping with current fuel averages. In addition to mileage, this plan offers:

• Accessorial and short-haul rates
• Weekly settlement with fuel deducted
• Paid base plates and permits
• 24-hour road service
• Company-issued toll cards and EZ pass
• Scale reimbursement
• Discounted parts, tires, and maintenance through our nationwide shops/vendors
• Voluntary maintenance escrow

We can also connect independent contractors with a voluntary health program offering single or family coverage at affordable group rates.

Owner-operators will deliver 98% no-touch random OTR freight, primarily within the lower 48 states. There is no forced dispatch. Pets and passengers are permitted. To qualify, tractors must:

• Pass initial and bi-yearly DOT inspections
• Weigh less than 20,000 lbs, fueled and occupied
• Not exceed fifth-wheel height of 47-1/2 inches.
