Since 1989, J.B. Hunt's Intermodal division has led the way in engineering transportation solutions for its customers. We operate a fleet of more than 38,500 company-owned 53' containers across a nationwide network of rail partners -- anchored by the BNSF in the West and the Norfolk Southern in the East. Our services are enhanced by one of the largest private drayage fleets in the U.S. with over 2,100 trucks and 2,500 company drivers. In addition to the largest inventory of 53' domestic containers in the industry, Hunt also has access to a variety of non-company intermodal assets for loading, including rail-provided domestic containers, international boxes (20', 40' and 45') and temperature-controlled equipment.

JB Hunt Intermodal volumes have grown from 20 loads in late 1989 to over 850,000 annual loads (2008 projection).
