Choice of home-time options

At J.B. Hunt, we believe our OTR drivers know best when it comes to managing their time off. That's why we offer home-time options to suit your individual preferences and help you arrange your own schedule. You can be home every 14 days, or at longer intervals if you prefer. And how much time you take off is also your choice.

Drivers who run out of J.B. Hunt Service Centers or Satellite Terminals accumulate two days off for every seven days on the road. If you like to be home every 14 days, for example, you can decide whether you want to take two days off or four. A lot of it has to do with your preference for keeping an assigned truck. Here's how it works:

  • If you want more home-time, you can take four days off and leave your truck at the terminal. When you return from your time off, you'll pick up a freshly-detailed, fully-serviced tractor.
  • If you prefer to keep an assigned truck, you can in most instances. You can take two days off and bank the other two days. Banking earned days lets you accumulate time off for later. In fact, you can take up to 30 consecutive days off.

Drivers running out of Home Center locations can also be home every 14 days. These drivers take one day off for every seven on the road, keeping an assigned truck with up to seven consecutive days off. J.B. Hunt has arranged maintenance through a network of outsourced vendors, making it convenient for trucks to be serviced closer to driver's homes.

These home-time options are flexible. You can arrange your time off to fit your lifestyle, and J.B. Hunt will accommodate your preference—just give your fleet manager 14 days notice.
